APD in the Community
Raising a Voice for Disability
Our integrated #YesToAccess communications campaign helped our client, the Association of People with Disability (APD) to double its funding, develop a robust digital presence, and solidify their voice advocating disability rights and empowerment in India. #YesToAccess champions the role of community in enabling greater accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities, targeting key stakeholders: HNIs, corporate funders, and the larger community.
We co-created the Yes To Access app to map accessible public infrastructure for its AI & ML-powered database, which was launched in July 2024 and will be released as a public good in December 2024 to coincide with International Day of People with Disability.
In a year, we organically grew new followers on social media by ~17K while reaching almost 34 million users, secured 1200+ media coverages, supported 25+ events on ground, and created 400+ print and digital collaterals.
Strategy
Our three-pronged strategy to lift their profile and give them a strong voice in the Disability sector was:
Shape the Narrative around Disability: shared real stories of real lives, presented through the lens of People with Disabilities (PwDs) to challenge community misperceptions while showcasing their capabilities and achievements.
Build Brand Awareness: Highlight APD’s role in diagnosis, rehabilitation, and reintegration into society for all PWDs, from infants to the elderly, to garner support and donations
High-Touch Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthen APD’s collaborations with relevant partners, decision-makers, volunteers, and donors to increase donations to the cause.
